Homicide on Brockville’s Cedar Street

BROCKVILLE – A person had died after some sort of fight on Cedar Street Sunday night in Brockville.

City police received a call about a “disturbance” just before 10 p.m. on a section of Cedar Street between Church and Abbott Street.

“The caller stated one of the individuals involved had suffered injuries and needed an ambulance,” police stated.

Officers and paramedics on the scene tried to save the male victim, who had serious injuries, but he died.

The suspects had gone to a nearby home and a negotiator was able to get them to surrender without incident.

The death is being treated as a homicide.

Details, such as the number of the suspects and their names, have not been released.

Detectives with the Brockville Forensic Identification Unit and the O.P.P. East Region Identification Unit are conducting the investigation.
