BROCKVILLE – City police say the Canada Day weekend has been busy as they deal with several cases of public drunkenness and family disputes.

A party turned into a dispute Friday night. A man was arrested and charged of assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of previous court conditions.

Two other men spent a night in the drunk tank.

On Saturday, five people were arrested, including one person in a case where there was an altercation outside a local establishment.

There were liquor and bylaw citations issued to others as police dealt with large crowds and concerts around the 1000 Islands Regatta.
