
BROCKVILLE – Various Remembrance Day ceremonies will be taking place across Leeds-Grenville today (Friday).
In Brockville, people will gather at 10:30 a.m. in front of city hall before the ceremony at the cenotaph at King and Courthouse.
A special Remembrance Day ceremony in Kemptville at 9 a.m. where there will be a dedication and renaming of the Kemptville Armoury (the old fire fall) as “The Pte. Blacke Williamson Memorial Hall.”
Hall and another solider were killed in an ambush in Afghanistan in October 2006.
A parade will then go to the cenotaph from the legion, starting at 10:35 a.m. before the service at the Prescott Street cenotaph at 11 a.m.
In Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township, services will be held at the Lyndhurst Legion at 10:30 a.m., the Thousand Islands Elementary School gym at 10:30 a.m., Seeley’s Bay Legion at 10:40 a.m. before the service at 11 a.m., the Mallorytown Legion Branch 484 at the cenotaph at 11 a.m. and at Sweet’s Corners Elementary School gym at 2:30 p.m.
