BROCKVILLE – A man has been arrested after he was caught taping other men in a local store “for his own entertainment,” police said Thursday.

The perpetrator was seen videotaping others in the north-end box store on Wednesday afternoon until one of his victims realized what he was up to and phoned police.

Officers later learned the suspect was gathering a collection of videos of unsuspecting men so he could “watch the video afterwards for his own entertainment.”

A 45-year-old man is charged with voyeurism and will appear in court at a later date.

According to the Criminal Code of Canada, a charge of voyeurism is laid when a person is taped where they can expect to be nude and have a reasonable expectation of privacy, like a change room, and where the perpetrator is doing it for a sexual purpose.

The man’s name and the location was not released by Brockville police.
