Vehicle impounded for speeding

BROCKVILLE – Two drivers from Ottawa have be caught for speeding and, in one case, had their vehicle impounded.

Leeds County O.P.P. released details today (Monday) on the traffic stops on the weekend of July 30-31, 2016.

In one case, a Toyota Corolla was caught on Highway 401 in the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands going over 130 kilometers an hour.

A 27-year-old man was charged with speeding and given a court summons for driving while his licence was suspended.

In the second case, a 2015 Honda Civic was clocked at over 125 kilometers an hour on Highway 15 near Portland, Ont. in Rideau Lakes Township.

The 57-year-old driver was charged with stunt driving and had his licence suspended and vehicle impounded, both for a week.

Both men will appear in a Brockville court at the end of the month.
