BROCKVILLE – A wildlife rescue group is taking care of an injured coyote after Brockville police received several calls about the animal today (March 11).

“The animal has a broken leg and was in very rough shape,” Sgt. Todd Bertrend said.

Citizens in the area around Reynolds Drive and First Avenue started calling about the animal around noon.

Officers were in the area as a precaution until wildlife officials could get there to take the coyote away and send it to Kingston for treatment.

Given the condition of the animal, it’s not known whether it will survive. “Its chances are much higher now!,” Bertrend added.
