BROCKVILLE – City police have arrested a man they say had threatened to shoot people in a department store parking lot.

It took place around 9 a.m. this morning (March 11) in the city center, near Central Avenue and Park Street.

Police say the man was pacing in front of a vehicle and threatening bystanders.

He left before officers got there but they were able to catch up with him and arrest the suspect as he was walking near St. Mary Catholic High School.

He’s been taken to hospital and remains there for mental health care, say police.
