Brockville’s future accessibility challenges

Brockville is well ahead of the curve when it comes to providing access for people with disabilities, city officials say.

The challenge, however, remains the city’s aged buildings and the cost of retrofitting them or replacing them with new, fully-accessible facilities.

City council will receive on Tuesday the latest update on Brockville’s “multi-year accessibility plan,” its annual report on how well it complies with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
