PRESCOTT – A home northwest of here has damage, mostly in the basement, after a fire late Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters from Augusta Township and Prescott were called to the dwelling at 2706 McIntosh Road around 4 p.m.
They were able to quickly put the fire out, reportedly in about 10 minutes.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but it’s not believed to be suspicious.
Augusta Fire Chief Rob Bowman told the Recorder and Times the homeowners, who were on scene, had insurance and had found some place to stay.
Grenville County O.P.P. were also on the scene for traffic control.
