Outbreak declared at Lombardy retirement home

LOMBARDY – Health officials have declared a COVID-19 outbreak at a Lombardy retirement home.

One resident at Lombard Manor has tested positive for the virus, the regional health unit said Sunday.

A single case in a staff member or a resident in long-term care is enough to trigger an outbreak declaration.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Paula Stewart says enhanced infection prevention and control measures are in place.

The independent and assisted living facility on Highway 15 in Rideau Lakes Township has 50 beds, including respite stay beds, according to its profile on SouthEasthealthline.ca.
