BROCKVILLE – A local lighting, fan and HVAC manufacturer will be adding a dozen jobs to the payroll.

Local MPP Steve Clark was at the manufacturing facility on Parkedale Avenue Friday morning with local mayors and Conservative Michael Barrett to announce $562,000 for the company through the Eastern Ontario Development Fund.

To be eligible for EODF, businesses have to promise to create at least 10 new jobs and invest $500,000 in their project.

In this case, Canarm is focusing on its HVAC business.

In July, the company announced it was expanding its facility by adding 90,000 square feet to its existing building over two phases. Canarm says it’s doubled its HVAC production area at the Brockville plant in recent years.

“We appreciate the Ontario government’s commitment to helping local companies innovate and grow. Ontario’s support is helping us to expand our business and better serve our customers,” said James Cooper, Canarm’s President and Chief Operating Officer.

The private company already has 160 people on staff.
