MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – The Ontario Special Investigations Unit has terminated its investigation into a woman’s death at the Gananoque police station last month.
The 63-year-old collapsed while filing a report about a family member and a missing vehicle on May 24. She later died at hospital.
An autopsy found that the woman’s death was due to coronary artery disease.
Since the woman died of natural causes, the SIU found there was “palpably nothing to investigate” since she died “through no fault of any police officer.”
The case is closed.
