BROCKVILLE – It only took a matter of hours before a driver, accused of failing to stop for a school bus on King Street East yesterday (May 28), turned himself in.

The alleged violation happened around 3 p.m. when police say a blue vehicle – possibly a Toyota Echo – with black rims and a spoiler, breezed by the school bus while it was stopped with its lights flashing at North Augusta Road.

Less than three hours after police released pictures from the scene, a 19-year-old driver was identified and charged.

The ticket for not stopping for a school bus with its lights flashing is $490 and six demerit points.
