LANSDOWNE – A trucker is facing nine charges after police had to be called in for a truck that tried to get by an MTO inspection station on Highway 401.

Leeds County O.P.P. say the truck had “attempted to evade” the MTO inspection Tuesday afternoon and then the driver pretended to be somebody else when confronted by authorities.

A 38-year-old Mississauga truck driver is charged by the O.P.P. with impersonation and driving while prohibited. He also faces seven commercial vehicle related charges laid by the MTO.

The truck was impounded for 45 days.
