TISS, BCI take Upper Canada Cup in Avonmore

AVONMORE – Brockville’s Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS) won the 2019 edition of the Upper Canada Cup Intermediate Girls’ Volleyball Championship.

TISS defeated Perth Collegiate in two straight sets, 25-18 and 25-14, in the final.

“Winning was the product of serving well, passing well and setting up our hitters well,” TISS Coach Joe Wilson said.

The games were played Tuesday in Avonmore at Tagwi Secondary School.

The boys’ championship on Wednesday was won by Brockville Collegiate Institute (BCI) after they beat the host Tagwi Warriors 25-18 and 25-22.
