MERRICKVILLE – The Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train has rolled out of Montreal and will be making stops this afternoon (Wednesday) in Merrickville and Smiths Falls.
The train will pull into Merrickville on the south side of the crossing at East Broadway (County Road 15) near By Street.
It’s expected to arrive at 4:45 p.m. and will be there for a half hour presentation, starting at 5 p.m.
Country music star Terri Clark is on board along with Winnipeg singer-songwriter Sierra Noble and singer Kelly Prescott.
The CP Holiday Train, which raises money, food and awareness for local food banks, is making its 20th run.
The event is free but you’re asked to bring a food or money donation for the local food bank.
The train will also make a stop in Smiths Falls at 6:20 p.m. at the train station on Victoria Avenue for a performance from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Since 1999, the train has raised more than $14.5 million and 4.3 million pounds of food for North American food banks.
