BROCKVILLE – A benefit concert will be held this weekend for the family of a Brockville newspaper carrier, who died just before Christmas.

“A Night For Neveah” will see several musical performers at the Brockville Convention Center for the 11 hour event, which starts at noon Saturday (Feb. 3).

The concert is raising money for Neveah, 7, whose father, 30-year-old Tyler Burtch, was struck and killed by a snowplow in a parking lot on Kensington Parkway in late December.

Entry into the concert is a minimum $10 donation and the money will be going into a Registered Educational Savings Plan (RESP).

Leigh Bursey, a city councillor and close friend of the victim’s family, says Tyler was a well-meaning guy but there was not a lot of future planning for Neveah’s education.

Bursey says the RESP is “protected and above board” and will be managed by the World Financial Group (WFG).
