Fake American cash circulating Brockville

BROCKVILLE – City police are drawing attention to some funny money possibly circulating Brockville.

The most recent case happened on Sunday (Nov. 5) when police say a counterfeit $50 American bill was passed off at the Mac’s Milk on King Street West.

A man in a smaller dark-coloured vehicle, possibly with out-of-province licence plates, bought $20 in gas and a milkshake and got $26.50 Canadian in change.

There was a woman driving, police said.

It wasn’t until he was gone that staff discovered they had been duped.

Police are still reviewing security camera footage in order to find any leads in the case.
