Woman tries to run down two pedestrians in Gananoque: police

GANANOQUE – A young woman is facing charges after police say she tried to run down a couple of people with her car in a Gananoque parking lot Tuesday.

Town police arrested a 21-year-old woman from Delta, Ont. after getting word of what had happened to two pedestrians at a King Street East business.

Police say they also found a knife and a homemade metal baton in the vehicle during a search of the suspect’s vehicle.

The unidentified woman has been charged with dangerous driving, two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and mischief.

She was held for a bail hearing.
