
BROCKVILLE ā A Quebec man has been given a two year jail sentence after pleading guilty to a couple of charges related to transporting and sharing child pornography.
Andre Delage, 30, entered the plea in a Brockville, Ont. courtroom on Wednesday (Jan. 18).
According to court records, Delage pleaded guilty to one count of importation under the Canada Customs Act and one count of distribution under the Criminal Code of Canada.
The balance of the charges (three) were withdrawn by the Crown.
Delage was arrested on Jan. 14, 2016 after border agents at the Lansdowne port of entry found a video on his laptop computer depicting child sexual abuse.
Following the completion of his two year sentence, Delage will be on probation for three years.
In addition, the man from Ascot Corner, Que. will be on the National Sex Offender Registry for 20 years and he has to submit a DNA sample.
He is also not allowed to frequent parks or places where children congregate for 10 years.
