(Newswatch Group/File)

BROCKVILLE – They usually are supposed to detect colourless, odourless gas, but in this case, a carbon monoxide detector detected a marijuana growing operation for local authorities.

Brockville police and firefighters were called Saturday morning to a home in the south end to check on the alarm, which was going off.

Officers found a “fairly sophisticated set up” and seized a number of plants.

A 25-year-old woman from the Brockville area was charged with production of a controlled substance.
