
LANSDOWNE – Police have seized over $1 million in drugs and charged four people after dismantling a marijuana growing operation in the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands (TLTI).
Leeds County O.P.P., working in conjunction with the Gananoque Police Service and the Canada Border Services Agency, searched a home on Old River Road just over a month ago (Oct. 6).
Officials only released details of the bust today (Nov. 15).
Officers seized 544 marijuana plants, 55 kilograms (146 pounds) of dried marijuana, 37 kilograms (82 pounds) of cannabis resin oil, 41 grams of hash, half a gram of crack cocaine, Canadian and American cash and a various assortment of drug paraphernalid.
The combined street value of the drugs is said to be roughly $1.2 million.
Twenty-eight-year-old Matias Denti from TLTI, 29-year-old Jeffrey Good from Augusta Township, 44-year-old man Earl Knowles from Edwardsburgh-Cardinal Township and 43-year-old Seven Kruize from TLTI are facing drug production and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking charges.
They will all appear in a Brockville court Friday, Dec. 16, 2016.
Police said the case is still open.
