BROCKVILLE – A city councillor and president of the local housing corporation is coordinating a public meeting later this week to collect ideas for Canada’s future of social housing.
Leigh Bursey is holding the community consultation meeting on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 at the Brockville Public Library.
“This could prove to be a crucial time for the Canadian housing market and national poverty prevention,” Bursey said in an email.
The meeting will look to collect ideas, suggestions, and concerns about housing.
The federal government is collecting feedback as it drafts a new national housing strategy, called Let’s Talk Housing: What We Heard, which will be released Nov. 22 on National Housing Day.
The Thursday meeting at the library starts at 6 p.m. and is expected to last up to two hours.
