Victim identified in Highway 401 crash near Maitland

MAITLAND – The victim in a weekend crash on Highway 401 near Maitland has been identified.

Moshe Kodoche, 27, of Toronto, Ont. was killed Sunday when his family’s vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on a stretch of the highway between Maitland and Prescott.

Kodoche was travelling with his family to Montreal for a wedding, according to JP Updates, a Jewish news and politics site.

The publication said Kodoche’s sister is in extremely critical condition, while his mother and father are said to be in serious condition.

The crash happened around 2:20 p.m. Sunday and forced the closure of the highway in both directions for roughly eight hours.
