BROCKVILLE – It looks like we will get a little taste of summer through fall across the region.
The Weather Network is out with its fall forecast this week and is calling for above normal temperatures for September through November.
The average high in Brockville is 20 degrees in September, 13 degrees in October and 7 degrees in November.
Meteorologist Michael Carter told Brockville Newswatch the weather was dominated by El Nino last winter and through the summer but that pattern in the Pacific Ocean is weakening.
As for precipitation, rain and snowfall will be around normal with some big fall storms.
Carter said we can expect some big rain events rather than regular showers throughout the three months.
Average precipitation in Brockville is 97 millimeters of rain in September, 88 millimeters of rain and snow in October and 92 millimeters of rain and snow in November.
We may be spoiled through the fall as Carter gave a preview of winter.
“It’s good news if you like cross country skiing and you enjoy the cold weather,” Carter said.
That’s because the mild weather last winter, thanks to El Nino, won’t be a factor this year.
