GANANOQUE – A 42-year-old man is facing several charges after confronting officers with a weapon in the town.
Gananoque police officers were able to disarm the suspect last Sunday (Aug. 28) after he started waving around a flick knife with a seven inch blade.
After the man was disarmed without incident, he was taken to hospital to be assessed under the Mental Health Act.
He was released later that day and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of uttering death threats and two counts of resisting arrest.
