BROCKVILLE – One man has been arrested and police are looking for a second after the local Walmart was ripped off for nearly $10,000 in electronics and hygiene products.
Brockville police arrested a 27-year-old man at the scene on Sunday afternoon as the two culprits made a break for it from store security.
The second guy got away into the woods to the east of the Walmart at 1942 Parkedale Avenue East and is still at large.
Police found a vehicle on the scene packed with duffel bags of the stolen merchandise.
The accused thief is from Quebec and will appear in a Brockville court today on a charge of theft over $5,000.
The vehicle was registered to another man in Quebec, police said.
