Update: The severe thunderstorm watch has ended.
BROCKVILLE – The hot and muggy air is making the perfect recipe for some severe thunderstorms today (Thursday).
Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Leeds-Grenville at 11:40 a.m.
It says there’s a good chance some dangerous thunderstorms could pop up early this afternoon and tonight, producing damaging winds, hail and heavy rain.
Meteorologists are also underscoring safety around lightning storms, which kills and injuries Canadians every year.
