BROCKVILLE – A local woman is facing a number of charges, including assaulting police, after a family dispute over the weekend.

Officers were called to a south end home around 2 p.m. Sunday where a woman had assaulted her sister, broken a glass and had used a piece of the glass to threaten her.

The victim, whose injuries are said to be minor, also had a necklace torn off during the fight.

Police say the dispute was fueled by alcohol and when the drunken woman was arrested, she spat blood at the police officer as they were taking her to the station.

At the station, the cell block was also flooded when she stuffed her pants in the toilet, police said.

A 43-year-old woman is facing charges of assault, mischief, assault with a weapon and assaulting police.
