BROCKVILLE – A city police officer has been suspended with pay, pending an investigation by the force.

In a five line statement Friday, the Brockville Police Service only said the unidentified officer had been suspended under the rules of the Police Services Act (PSA).

The PSA states that an officer may be suspended with pay if he or she is suspected of misconduct.

“As the matter is currently under investigation we are unable to provide any further details at this time,” the statement read.

The news release directed all questions to Chief Scott Fraser.

Fraser’s voicemail indicated that he was out of the office until Monday.
