Augusta taps treasurer as new CAO

AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP – The township has decided to promote from within, picking its treasurer as top administrator.

Ray Morrison has been appointed chief administrative officer, replacing Pierre Mercier.

Mercier went to Prescott earlier this month to fill the CAO position there after a vacancy opened up at the Fort Town.

Mercier is still offering advice to Augusta Township on planning and industrial park development through an arrangement between the two municipalities.

Much like South Dundas has done with CAO Shannon Geraghty, Augusta’s Morrison will juggle both the CAO and treasury departments.

Morrison is also a former CFO for the Brockville hospital.
