Someone stealing mail in Leeds

(Newswatch Group/File)

BROCKVILLE – Provincial police are dealing with a recent string of mail thefts in Leeds County.

O.P.P. say they’ve received numerous reports of thefts from roadside mailboxes – at least 40 around Lyn, Mallorytown and Addison.

It’s believed the thefts happened Monday night where victims found opened greeting cards and parcels dumped in the ditch.

Other mail was dumped, unopened, suggesting thieves are looking for money and items of value.

Provincial police say Canada Post and municipal offices are aiding in their investigation.

If you have any information you’re asked to called O.P.P. at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
