BROCKVILLE – The union representing full-time high school teachers and the Upper Canada District School Board have reached a tentative deal.
The school board said the conditional agreement was reached at 2 a.m. Friday with the District 26 Teachers’ Bargaining Unit.
Terms of the settlement, based on the provincial deal reached Aug. 20, are not being disclosed until it’s ratified by both sides.
Board chairman Jeff McMillan said he was pleased both sides were able to reach an agreement and was hopeful the same situation would play out with other union groups.
Deals still have to be reached with the bargaining units for elementary teachers, occasional teachers and support staff.
