BROCKVILLE – Two city police officers help a new teenage mother with an unexpected arrival.
Police were called to an apartment complex in the south end for a medical related call around 2 a.m. Friday.
When they got there, Const. Robert Ferguson and Const. Nicki Henri found a 19-year-old woman had given birth of her baby – ten weeks early.
The officers assisted with the newborn and mother until paramedics arrived on the scene and took them to the hospital.
Police were not able to provide an update on the condition of the mother and child.
“(They) went above and beyond when dealing with their situation and the premature birth call they attended. Once again, we are a proud service today and would like the community to know, these are the type of quality individuals responding to these situations,” said Staff Sgt. Todd Bertrend.
