LEEDS-GRENVILLE – You can get your voting done between your turkey dinner this Thanksgiving weekend.
Advance polling stations are opening across Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes today (Friday) from noon until 8 p.m.
They will be open the same hours on Saturday, Sunday and Thanksgiving Monday.
Your advance polling station is on your voter card you should have received in the mail. If you didn’t, you can call 1-866-241-7892 to find your polling station location.
You can also find your location by going here and entering your postal code, clicking “Go” and then clicking on “Where do I vote?” on the next page.
In order to vote you need one piece of picture ID, such as a driver’s licence or health card, or two pieces of non-picture ID, one with your current address.
You can find a list of acceptable identification here.
Election Day is Oct. 19 and polls will be open for 12 hours starting at 9:30 a.m. that day.
Running in the election are Conservative Gord Brown, Liberal Mary Jean McFall, NDP Margaret Andrade and Green Lorraine Rekmans.
