ATHENS – All the elements, but one, were there for another successful Athens Cornfest on the 35th anniversary of the popular one-day tribute to corn Saturday. The usual large crowd of visitors, including area residents and visiting cottagers and campers, wore broad smiles while ambling along the village’s main drive – closed for the day to traffic – while enjoying an event devoted to all thing corny in recognition of a precious staple commodity grown by local farmers.
