WESTPORT – Provincial police say a 1-year-old girl is the victim in this week’s house fire.
Leeds County OPP and Rideau Lakes Township firefighters responded to the fire on Concession Road 9, southwest of Westport, on Tuesday night.
A body was found inside the two-storey house after the fire was put out.
Following an autopsy, police have identified the victim as Samara Holmes.
An investigation between the Leeds County OPP Crime Unit, the Ontario Fire Marshal, the Ontario Coroner’s office and forensic pathologists is ongoing.
Police are asking anyone with information on the fire to call them.
