LYNDHURST – A suspect was taken down by an O.P.P. police dog early Saturday morning (Aug. 3) after officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle in Lyndhurst.
Leeds County O.P.P. say they were in the area of Oakel Street around 5 a.m. when they located a truck and trailer with a small excavator loaded on the trailer.
Police say the driver and passengers failed to stop for police but later stopped and ran away.
The O.P.P. canine unit was about to find one the suspects.
A 35-year-old man from Rideau Lakes Township is charged with possession of stolen property, possession of break-in instruments, possession of a dangerous weapon, trespassing at night, drug possession and three counts of failing to comply with a court recognizance order.
Police are still looking for the other suspects.
