School buses cancelled, schools closed in Leeds-Grenville

BROCKVILLE — With the impending snowstorm starting later today (Tuesday), school buses have been cancelled and schools have been closed in Leeds-Grenville.

All school buses across the district for the Upper Canada District School Board and the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario have been cancelled.

A Colorado low pressure system with plenty of snow is expected to hit the area later today, making roads very bad for driving.

The French transportation consortium has also cancelled buses for Brockville, Merrickville and Kemptville.

At 6:50 a.m., the Upper Canada District School Board decided to close its schools and board offices “due to the nature of the advancing snow storm.” The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario has also done the same “due to the severity of the incoming weather and accompanying winds and blizzard conditions.”

This is the ninth time this school year school buses have been cancelled.
