BROCKVILLE – Two men who had a little too much alcohol were arrested for public intoxication Thursday night, which Brockville police say they did in the interest of safety.
As temperatures dipped to -10 to -15 Celsius last night ahead of bitter Arctic air gripping the region, a 46-year-old man was found passed out drunk in a snowbank.
Later on, in a separate case, a 59-year-old man was also found “in a state that caused officers to fear for his safety” due to how much booze he drank.
Both were arrested and held until sober, then released.
Had they not been found or helped out, the men likely would have been in trouble as the temperature dropped to -19 overnight.
