BROCKVILLE – The United Way of Leeds and Grenville says it has reached its annual fundraising campaign goal.
It actually brought in over $866,000, though the agency will still be accepting donations over the holidays, the agency announced on Christmas Eve morning.
The original goal was $825,000.
Money will be distributed in the new year after funding applications from various agencies and groups are reviewed by the United Way Board of Directors.
“I am very proud of what our community has been able to accomplish, and want people to know their donation positively changes lives,” United Way Executive Director Trish Buote said.
The local United Way supports 20 local partner agencies.
