BROCKVILLE – Edwardsburgh-Cardinal Mayor Pat Sayeau will be the warden of the United Counties of Leeds-Grenville for the next term of council.
Sayeau was elected the 2019-2020 warden during the upper-tier government’s first meeting on Wednesday. He takes over from Westport Mayor Robin Jones.
He believes the next four-year term of council will be “very challenging” with fewer dollars available from upper level governments, predicting the Ontario government will be “tight-fisted” with grants.
Sayeau has served three terms on Edwardsburgh-Cardinal council and was elected mayor in 2014 before being re-elected this year.
