BROCKVILLE – The person who bought a winning lottery ticket in an October Lotto Max draw has come forward to claim his prize.

Gordon Clarke of Brockville won $500,000 in the Oct. 26 draw – it was one of the 20 Maxmillions prizes. In the case of Clarke’s ticket, it was one of six sets of winning numbers that split the prize between two tickets.

Brockville Newswatch first told you about the winning ticket earlier this month.

Clarke, a 71-year-old retired real estate agent, told lottery officials that he plays Lotto Max when the jackpot gets near $60 million.

He found out he won when checking his ticket at a local store. “The clerk danced around in excitement behind the counter when he found out. It really hit me when OLG called to confirm it!”

Clarke plans to share his winnings with his three children.

The winning ticket was bought at the Quickie on Central Avenue in Brockville.
