BROCKVILLE – City hardware store manager Tim Chauvin has been knocked out of the competition in the first round of a national televised baking show competition.

Chauvin, 38, was sent home in the season two premiere of CBC’s The Great Canadian Baking Show last night (Wednesday).

The bakers had to create an upside-down fruit cake for their signature challenge and then an airy chiffon cake for the technical challenge. This was followed by a personal flair on a layered birthday cake for the showstopper.

Nine amateur bakers advance in the challenge for the title in The Great Canadian Baking Show.
