GANANOQUE – A pilot is expected to be okay after his float plane flipped in the St. Lawrence River today near Downie Island, east of here.
The one person aboard the plane was treated by Leeds-Grenville paramedics at the scene. Gananoque Fire was also on scene with their boat.
The overturned plane is reportedly in about 6-8 feet (2-2.5 meters) of water.
It’s not known what caused the crash.
The Transportation Safety Board has been notified.
