GANANOQUE – A town-wide bottle drive has raised $1,300 for a program to help children get involved in recreation who may not be able to afford it.

The Gananoque Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) held the event yesterday (Tuesday) with help from the Brockville Police Service YIPI, the Gananoque Fire Service and other volunteers.

After returning all the bottles, along with some cash donations, they ended up with $1,300 to donate to the Positive Opportunity Partnership (POP).

The POP subsidy program is sponsored by the Town of Gananoque.
