SMITHS FALLS – An update to a story Brockville Newswatch first told you about on Wednesday – a charge has been laid against a police officer involved in a crash on County Road 29.
A 17-year-old driver of an SUV and her passenger were taken to hospital by EMS with minor injuries on Wednesday afternoon (April 11) after a collision with a marked police cruiser, about five kilometers south of the town.
Police say the cruiser was heading north with its emergency lights activated when it collided with the SUV, which was also travelling north, near Otterdale Crescent.
Leeds County O.P.P. announced today (Friday) that Const. Vince Tremblay, 57, is charged with making an unsafe turn under the Highway Traffic Act.
Tremblay has been a member of the O.P.P. for 25 years and is a Leeds County O.P.P. officer.
