BROCKVILLE – While introducing his new tax guide, local MP Gord Brown also took the opportunity to take a swipe at the current government.
“Unfortunately, in the past two years, income taxes have risen for 81 per cent of regular families – with the average income tax hike amounting to $840 per year,” he said in a statement Monday.
Brown said the tax increases, combined with tax credits, have “left many Canadian families paying more to the government while receiving less.”
He contrasted that with the previous Conservative government, saying their measures saved families $6,600 per year.

You have to file your taxes by April 30.
