TINCAP – A driver is facing charges after leading Leeds County O.P.P. on a pursuit along a county road, north of Brockville.
Police were called just before 1 a.m. Friday for a disturbance at a gas station in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township.
O.P.P. Const. Sandra Barr told Brockville Newswatch the gas attendant was concerned about a couple in the store who were acting agitated.
They left the business and were heading north of County Road 29 when Leeds County O.P.P. officers tried to stop the driver – but he didn’t stop.
Barr said the pursuit did not reach any high speed and was not a long distance before O.P.P. cruisers boxed the driver in and ended the chase.
A 34-year-old man from the Carleton Place area (Beckwith Township) has been charged with impaired driving and flight from police.
