WESTPORT – One vehicle involved in a collision at a village intersection ended up in Upper Rideau Lake Saturday night.
Leeds County O.P.P. were called to the intersection of Bedford Street and Main Street around 6:30 p.m.
Police say one vehicle on Bedford Street had failed to stop and collided with a vehicle on Main Street before heading down the end of Bedford, over a dock, and into Upper Rideau Lake.
“It came to rest almost fully submerged in water,” Const. Sandra Barr said.
The driver managed to escape without injury.
A 19-year-old man from Harrowsmith is facing dangerous driving and drunk driving-related charges.
